County of Granville issued the following announcement on Jan. 4.

The Granville County Soil and Water District Supervisor Board recently swore in three members for new terms and recognized one of their own for his ten years of experience serving Granville County. 

James Jones and Jason Dixon were reelected to new terms during November’s general election. Randall Guthrie was sworn in for a new term as an appointed member of the board. 

Jason Dixon was also presented with a plaque from the NC Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts by Granville County Natural Resources Conservationist Byron Currin in recognition of Dixon’s ten years of service. 

The Granville County Soil and Water Conservation District provides local assistance in natural resource management through state and federal programs, with a goal of implementing best management practices and conservation planning on agricultural land. 

The Granville Soil and Water Board meets monthly on the second Monday at 7 p.m. at the Farm Service Agency Building located at 518 Lewis Street in Oxford. To learn more about the Granville Soil and Water Conservation District, visit the Granville County website.
