A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Warren County Election Department on October 30, 2024. The request, made by NE Piedmont News, sought access to pre-election test reports for voting machines used in the county.

NE Piedmont News is a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. In line with this commitment, we have requested these records under the North Carolina Public Records Law, G.S. ยง132-1., preferably in electronic format.

The specific information requested includes the test date, machine manufacture, machine model number, and machine status (whether it passed or failed). We have asked for this data to be provided in PDF format.

These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
