This sum represents a 98.2% decrease when compared to the $423,597 spent the previous year on capital outlay.
Among the various expenditures, the largest expenditure from state funds was $34.9 million for salary, followed by employee benefits on which $14.7 million was spent, and purchased services with $3.1 million. Additionally, expenditures for supplies and materials and other were $1.7 million and $49,309, respectively.
North Carolina has not approved a new budget for the 2025–26 fiscal year, leaving state funding at current levels as House and Senate negotiations remain stalled.
