Granville Health System recognized its volunteers during the annual Volunteer Services Appreciation Banquet held at Thorndale Oaks, according to an April 27 announcement. The event celebrated individuals who have contributed their time and compassion to patients, visitors, and staff across the organization.
Renita Timberlake, Director of Volunteer Services, said, “Our volunteers play an essential role in the experience we provide every day at Granville Health System. Their kindness, dedication, and willingness to serve help create a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone who walks through our doors.”
The health system reported that in Fiscal Year 2024–2025, volunteers assisted with more than 27,000 patient and visitor greetings, over 22,000 appointment assists, nearly 400 wheelchair assists, and more than 500 directional assists. Chaplains also made over 300 visits between January and December of the previous year to offer spiritual support to patients and families.
Adam McConnell, Chief Executive Officer of Granville Health System said, “At Granville Health System, we know that exceptional care goes beyond clinical services. It is defined by human connection. Our volunteers bring that connection to life in a powerful way, and their contributions are a vital part of the experience we provide every day.”
The health system noted that collectively its volunteers contributed more than 5,800 hours during the year. Over the past year since November 1st of last year it has welcomed eight new volunteers and nine new chaplains; currently there are now a total of 25 volunteers and 31 chaplains serving throughout the organization.
In addition to volunteer service growth supporting patient-centered care and community engagement efforts within Granville County students benefited from seven internships provided by GHS during this period.
The organization expressed gratitude for all those who contribute as volunteers or chaplains each day.
