Maria Parham Health has announced Kimberly Smith, RN, BSN, as the recipient of the 2025 Mercy Award. This accolade is the highest honor given to a LifePoint Health employee and recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional compassion, dedication, and service.
Named after LifePoint Health’s founding chairman, Scott Mercy, the award honors one person at each facility for their commitment to community health. Kimberly Smith has served Maria Parham Health for nearly two decades in various departments such as Med/Surg, Labor & Delivery, Inpatient Rehabilitation, and Oncology.
“Kim is the kind of person who makes an immediate impact wherever she goes,” stated Bert Beard, CEO of Maria Parham Health. “Her unwavering dedication to our patients, her team, and our entire community is truly inspiring. Kim doesn’t just show up to do her job—she lives out our mission every day. We are incredibly proud to recognize her as our 2025 Mercy Award winner.”
Smith is recognized for her willingness to support patients and their families beyond regular duties. Her involvement extends into community outreach initiatives that provide essential resources like food and clothing.
Additionally, she plays a significant role in organizing events such as the hospital’s annual Cancer Survivor’s Dinner and cancer education awareness programs. She collaborates with organizations like Henderson Fire Department’s Boot Drive and Angel Fund to offer financial and emotional assistance during treatment.
Colleagues describe Smith using terms such as compassionate, committed, selfless, and kind—attributes that align with the essence of the Mercy Award.
Maria Parham Health extends its congratulations to Kim Smith on this recognition for her contributions both within the hospital setting and in broader community engagements.
