Maria Parham Health recently honored its nursing staff during National Nurses Week, which took place from May 6 to May 9. The celebration aimed to recognize the dedication and resilience of nurses at the facility.
The week began on Tuesday, May 6, with an ice cream sundae bar for both day and night shift nurses. Lunch options were provided by local food trucks such as Soulbachi, Bologna Boyz Food Wagon, and Smoking Aces.
On Wednesday, May 7, Maria Parham Health hosted its Annual Nurses’ Breakfast. This event offered a hearty meal to support healthcare workers through their demanding day.
A significant event on Thursday, May 8, was the Blessing of the Hands ceremony led by Pastor Frank Sossamon. This tradition acknowledges the physical and spiritual efforts of nurses in their caregiving roles.
The week concluded on Friday, May 9, with coffee provided by Love is Coffee. Additionally, nurses participated in prize drawings supported by community sponsors.
Maria Parham Health CEO Bert Beard expressed gratitude for the nurses’ service: “Our nurses are truly the backbone of this hospital,” he said. “Their compassion, expertise, and unwavering commitment to our patients and community are nothing short of inspiring.”
Maria Parham Health extended thanks to local businesses and individuals who contributed prizes for the celebrations. These included sponsors from Henderson, Oxford, and Wake Forest areas.
The organization emphasized its appreciation for its nursing team not only during Nurses Week but throughout the year.
