On May 20, 2025, Maria Parham Health hosted its third annual Burgers for Badges event. This event was organized to honor law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other first responders who serve the community.
The event featured a cookout with beef and turkey burgers, potato salad, chips, and desserts. The meal was free for all first responders as a gesture of appreciation for their service.
“It’s always a privilege to welcome our local heroes to campus,” said Bert Beard, CEO of Maria Parham Health. “These men and women show up for our community in the most critical moments—day or night, rain or shine. This lunch is just one small way we can say thank you and remind them that we see them, we support them, and we are grateful beyond words.”
The annual tradition at Maria Parham Health brings together hospital staff and first responders in gratitude and camaraderie. The afternoon included laughter and shared stories between healthcare providers and emergency services personnel.
Maria Parham Health thanked every responder who attended the event and acknowledged those unable to attend due to their duties in protecting the community.
