Maria Parham Health lifted its temporary visitor restrictions on March 9 after a decrease in influenza and flu-like illnesses in the community and across North Carolina.
The hospital has now returned to its standard visitation hours, limits, and age requirements. This change follows several weeks of heightened precautions due to increased flu activity.
“Lifting visitation restrictions at our hospital is an important step for our patients and their recovery,” said Bert Beard, chief executive officer of Maria Parham Health. “We’re encouraged to see flu activity declining in our community, and we appreciate the cooperation and understanding shown by our patients, families and staff while these temporary precautions were in place.”
Hospital leaders continue to stress the importance of protecting vulnerable patients. Visitors are asked to follow safety measures while inside the facility.
Officials thanked the community for supporting efforts to protect both patients and caregivers during the period of restricted visitation. Those with questions about current policies are encouraged to contact the hospital directly.
