Maria Parham Health has released its community benefit report for the year 2024, detailing its efforts to support health and economic vitality in the Henderson/Vance County region. The report is part of the hospital’s mission to enhance community health.
Bert Beard, CEO of Maria Parham Health, stated, “For more than 100 years, Maria Parham Health has been proud to call Henderson and Vance County our home, and as a leader in our community, we are committed to providing high-quality care close to home, investing in our region’s overall well-being and making a positive impact on those we serve.”
The report highlights several initiatives by Maria Parham Health in 2024. These include welcoming new providers across various medical fields such as internal medicine and oncology. The hospital also invested nearly $4.3 million in capital improvements like a robotic surgical system and emergency room enhancements.
Maria Parham Health contributed over $48.9 million in health services to those unable to pay for care. The organization also focused on creating a supportive work environment by distributing more than $67.5 million in salaries and benefits for approximately 740 employees. Additionally, it provided over $135,000 for professional development and tuition assistance.
In terms of financial contributions to the local economy, Maria Parham Health paid $18,036,950 in taxes last year while supporting local organizations such as ACTS of Vance County and Crimestoppers.
