City of Creedmoor recently issued the following announcement.

What is COVID-19

COVID-19, more commonly known as Coronavirus Disease 2019, is an upper respiratory illness that can spread rapidly from person to person. Risk of infection with COVID-19 is higher for older adults and people who have underlying medical conditions such as chronic lung disease, moderate to severe asthma, heart disease, diabetes or a compromised immune system.

COVID-19 can appear 2-14 days after exposure. Symptoms include: cough, fever, shortness of breath. If you develop emergency warning signs for COVID-19 seek medical attention immediately. Emergency warning signs include: trouble breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, new confusion, bluish lips or face.

What can you do to help prevent the spread?

Stay home! If you must go out practice social distancing. Remain atleast 6-feet away from others.
Wash you hands frequently.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
Cover your cough and sneeze with a tissue or into your elbow.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
Limit gatherings to fewer than 10 people.

What Creedmoor is Doing to Prevent the Spread

City of Creedmoor government officials are committed to protecting the public as well as its employees while responding to the rapidly changing outbreak of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). City officials are committed to sharing information regarding our organizational response to this infectious disease while maintaining services, support, and safety to our citizens.

Effective Monday, March 23 at 5:00 p.m. City of Creedmoor Mayor Bobby Wheeler and Granville County Board Chair David Smith have issued joint declarations of a State of Emergency in Granville County and the City of Creedmoor.

City Facilities Restricted Access

City of Creedmoor facilities, including City Hall and Community Development offices, as well as playground equipment, picnic shelters, and picnic tables at Lake Rogers Park and Harris Park are closed to the public, and shall remain closed to the public until the State of Emergency is lifted by proclamation.

Creedmoor City Hall and the Community Development Office will be closed to the public as of 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23. City of Creedmoor staff will remain available to assist customers by phone or email during normal business hours. Citizens are strongly urged to conduct all public business via internet or phone until further notice. The NC COVID-19 Rapid Recovery Loan Program complements the SBA by providing a bridge until businesess can access funding from the SBA.

Online Communication Assistance.

It is imperative that businesses are able to communicate and market themselves during this time. Creedmoor-based businesses that do not have a social media platform may submit information regarding operating hours, offerings, etc. to webmaster@cityofcreedmoor.org for a courtesy posting on the city's social media page(s).
Small Business Administration (SBA) offers low interest loans to local businesses affected by COVID-19.

SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loans offer up to $2 million in assistance and can provide vital economic support to small businesses to help overcome the temporary loss of revenue they are experiencing.
