City of Henderson recently issued the following announcement.
The City of Henderson’s Sewer Collection System bypassed approximately 10,800 gallons of untreated water on April 5, 2020 due to debris being placed in the sewer manhole. The overflow occurred in the Fox Pond outfall. Approximately 6,000 gallons of untreated water entered a tributary to Rowland Pond and 4,800 gallons was contained on the ground.
North Carolina General Statutes article 21 chapter 143.215.1c requires a press release for all bypasses of 1,000 gallons or more that enter surface waters.
