State Rep. Larry Yarborough (R-Granville) said the North Carolina General Assembly continued to prioritize veterans and military families during this legislative session.
North Carolina has a history of support of military veterans, and Rep. Larry Yarborough highlighted several bills the General Assembly approved this year that supports the troops.
In a Facebook post on July 22, Yarborough touted four bills the House passed this legislative session.
The Scholarships for Children of Wartime Veterans Act boosts the funding for scholarships available to children of wartime veterans attending college in North Carolina, he posted to his Facebook page. The Occupational Licensing Reform for Military Families Act eases the job-hunting process for veterans, active-duty service members and their spouses by reducing and streamlining occupational licensing requirements.
He also highlighted The Military Stabilization Fund that gives more money to the state’s military programs and activities and the Military and Veteran Act, which permits excused absences for children to spend time with their parents before deployment, as well as expands in-state tuition and scholarships for veterans and their offspring.
