Vance County Fire Department issued the following announcement on May 16.
An important point a lot of people fail to think about when building a home is: Fire apparatus is getting bigger and bigger and the spaces, we as firefighters need accessibility to for us to get in, set up and attack a fire are getting bigger also! Remember: 1st We need to be able to find your house and 2nd We need to be able to get to you. Considering these often overlooked precautionary measures can make the difference between life and death.
