County of Granville issued the following announcement on July 13.
On July 5, the Granville County Board of Commissioners honored the life and service of former Commissioner Mike Warren who passed away on July 1, 2022.
Chairman Tony Cozart presented Gail Warren, Mike’s wife of fifty-five years, with a proclamation honoring his service as a County Commissioner and his lifetime of selfless work for his family and the Granville County community.
In addition to his service on the Board of County Commissioners, Mike Warren also served as Deacon at Oxford Baptist Church, as a member of the Oxford Credit Union Board of Directors, and helped lead the fight against the toxic waste incinerator project on the land that now is home to the Granville Athletic Park.
