City of Oxford issued the following announcement on Oct. 10.
Keeping our community safe is a daily priority for the Oxford Fire Department.
In an effort to bring quality fire prevention information to the Pre-K through 3rd Grade children of our community, we have once again partnered with the National Fire Safety Council.
We will be delivering age-appropriate fire safety activity packets to all Granville County Elementary Schools for disbursement to teaching staff to assist in providing the fire safety message.
We have chosen materials that address topics such as smoke alarms, sprinkler systems, home escape plans and safety manuals.
This is the 36th year that Oxford Fire Department has been supporting this program and providing this material to our schools and is only available through the kind donations of our business and industrial community.
