City of Oxford issued the following announcement on Nov. 20.
New Route (RED): The parade will begin on Belle St and take the following route: Belle St > Williamsboro St > Hillsboro St > Broad St > Penn Ave and will disassemble in/around the Public Works Parking Lot.
As always, parade participants will line up on Spring St (GREEN). To avoid confusion and assist with traffic control/safety, all parade participants should enter the line-up area on Spring St, VIA WILLIAMSBORO ST and find your spot in line from there.
Recommended Detour Routes are marked on the map in yellow.
Main St from Williamsboro St to Little John St will close at 2:30 PM to prepare for Lighting of the Greens Ceremony.Parade Line Up area (GREEN) will begin closing between 5:00-5:30 PM. Parade Route Closures (RED) will begin around 6:15-6:30 PM.Roads will open upon completion of the parade.
Please plan your travels accordingly. We understand the frustration of road closures when you are not attending the parade. The closures and detours are in place to help ensure the highest level of safety for parade participants, observing citizens, motoring public, as well as our officers.
