On Saturday, Nov. 22, former Vance County High School standout Maurice Jackson’s current collegiate team the Virginia Union Panthers lost 24-27 against the California Vulcans in the NCAA Division II Football Championship.
The game took place at Hovey Field at 1 p.m. and was the first matchup against the California Vulcans in the tournament.
Tuesday, April 28 will feature competition from this former Northeast Piedmont area high school standout.
The upcoming week starting Monday, April 27 will feature these former Northeast Piedmont area high school athletes.
One running event is scheduled to take place in the Northeast Piedmont during the week ending May 1, offering an opportunity for adults to compete, stay active, and take part in organized races.
