Methodist Health will host a free Fall Family Expo on Saturday, October 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its Henderson campus located at 1305 North Elm Street. The event is a collaboration between Methodist Health, Orthopaedic Associates and Deaconess and is a celebration of National Health Education Week that takes place the week of October 21.
Prior to the event, Orthopaedic Associates will hold a Doc Walk beginning at 10 a.m. along the Henderson Riverwalk behind Methodist Health. Dr. Dennis Beck, Dr. Phillip Richardson, and Dr. Aaron Mull from Orthopaedic Associates will lead a one mile self-guided walk for all fitness levels. The group will walk to Red Banks Park to a water stop then head back to Methodist Health.
The Fall Family Expo will feature fun and free activities for families, including pumpkins, face painting, balloons, casting demonstrations and Kona Ice. Kids are invited to bring a plush doll or stuffed animal in need of repair to our Teddy Bear Clinic where they will learn about health related topics from a Methodist Health physician. The goal of the Clinic is to help ease anxiety for children in the event they must visit the hospital or physician office for an injury or illness.
Other features of the Expo will include demonstrations by the Henderson Police Department, Henderson Fire Department and Henderson County Emergency Medical Services, meet and greets with providers, assistance with Methodist MyChart registrations, giveaways, three family gift basket raffles valued at $150 each, and more. WSTO Hot 96 will also be on-site.
The event will take place outside in the Hospital lower parking lot at 12th and Elm Streets. In the event of rain, the location will be moved inside the Hospital in Classrooms 1-3 in the lower level of the Elm Street entrance.
