City of Creedmoor issued the following announcement on Aug. 20.
Due to inclement weather, the pedestrian bridge along Wilton Avenue (Hwy 56) has suffered damage by a fallen tree. This section of the Cross City Trail has been blocked off by Creedmoor Police Department.
The bridge will reopen after maintenance crews remove debris, access damage, repair and inspection of the structure has been completed. There is currently no estimated time for reopening of the route.
