County of Granville issued the following announcement on Oct. 1.
The Granville County Sheriff’s Office completed their inaugural “Citizens Academy” on Sept. 30 with a graduation ceremony that included 13 participants. The program, open to residents age 21 and older, was established to build a bridge between law enforcement and local citizens through a series of classroom presentations and community involvement. Participants met each Tuesday evening at the Law Enforcement Center Training room to learn about current law enforcement issues, patrol procedures and crime prevention.
Graduates of the program included Sue Hinman, Garnet Drakiotes, Billy Mickle, Teresia Blackwell, Kimberly Adcock. Robert Blancato. Faicia Elliott, Linda Clough, Annette Myers, Donna Mickle, Renata Thornton, Erica Harris, and James Eden.
“The Granville County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to providing the highest level of service possible while safeguarding our citizens,” said Granville County Sheriff Charles R. Noblin, Jr. “The partnerships we are building between our staff, the community and our residents all contributed to the success of the Citizens Academy program. We congratulate our graduates and everyone who worked together to make this possible.”
