Town of Butner issued the following announcement on Feb. 16.
Granville County Veteran Service Officer (GC-VSO) by Rodney Frazier
Below is a brief synopsis of our outreach program. Please feel free to change it if needed.
The GC-VSO will begin a veteran outreach program at 1546 S. Campus Drive (EMS Bldg & Sheriff’s South Station) on February 23, from 9:00am to 1:00pm.
This program will continue on the third Wednesday of every month. VSO Rodney Frazier will be processing veterans’ license plate forms, tax relief forms, veterans’ hunting licenses, and the opportunity to drop off and pick up paperwork.
Veterans should call (919) 693-1484 to schedule an appointment, no walk-ins for these services. Due to the complexity of claims, we will continue to be processed in our Oxford office.
Veterans Support Group Meetings by Anne Williams, Mental Health Specialist
I am grateful for the opportunity to serve veterans residing in the southern part of Granville County in the near future.
I would like to begin by providing my phone number and an email through which I can be reached for inquiries regarding the support group. Although there are no specific requirements for attending, people may have questions before deciding to join us. My cell number is 919-892-5471 and email is annewill52@yahoo.com.
The veteran support group will begin on Monday, February 28th from 6pm – 7pm and continue twice per month. This group is open to veterans from all eras and branches including National Guard who may have served inside or outside of the Continental United States. This is a drop-in group and regular attendance is not a requirement. Come when you feel like it.
This is an informal gathering for conversation, fellowship and comradery among fellow service members. If people are in need of further assistance or to schedule a meeting with our Granville County Veteran Service Officer this can be arranged.
I am looking forward to the development of this group to supplement the current group located in Oxford. Our Oxford group meets each Monday afternoon at the Granville County Senior Center from 2 – 3pm. Please contact Anne Williams on her cell phone at 919-892-5471 or by email at annewill52@yahoo.com.
