County of Granville issued the following announcement on Mar. 8.
The Sheriff’s Office has received multiple reports of someone calling from a 919-482-3166 phone number and posing as a Deputy. The caller states that they are calling in reference to a warrant or citation and then requesting money.
Please do not give out any personal information to anyone that may call you from this number, and do not agree to send them any money. The Sheriff’s Office will never call to inform you of a warrant/citation.
