CITY OF OXFORD: Downtown Oxford Social District Going Into Effect on September 1

City of Oxford issued the following announcement on Aug. 24.

The City of Oxford and the Downtown Oxford Economic Development Corporation (DOEDC) are pleased to announce the Downtown Oxford Social District will go into effect on Thursday, September 1, 2022, starting at 12:00 pm. The map included below outlines the specific streets where the Social District has been established and the businesses participating.

Alcoholic beverages may be consumed in this area during the following hours: Wednesday through Saturday, 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM, and Sunday, 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Beverages must be in social district containers only and must be discarded before you exit the designated social district boundaries. Window clings will be present in storefronts Downtown indicating whether or not they are participating and/or allow beverages inside. Please note, it is the decision of the business owner as to whether they allow beverages in their establishment and we ask that you please respect their choice. Green (beverages welcome), red (no beverages allowed) and yellow (beverages sold here) window clings have been provided to Downtown merchants and will be placed in their windows. For further information regarding the Social District including hours of operation, window cling and sticker examples, please visit the City of Oxford website using the link below.
